Special guests in an artist’s home – Aix-en-Provence, France

Marielle and José live in a beautiful small mansion. I really loved my stay in Aix and José’s place could help me immerse into the atmosphere of this French town.

After arrival, the host served coffee and we were chatting about what to visit in the town and where to eat. José was telling everything about Aix. How the people live there and what main events they have at summer. Our conversation was mostly in French and I was happy to find someone who is patient enough to wait for me to refresh my French vocabulary 🙂

Until José’s wife, Marielle arrived and showed me the room, I was sitting on the antique coach in the dark living room. The curtain was not fully open, so it resulted to this gloomy atmosphere. The paintings and drawings laying around and hanged on the wall, looked dramatic in the darkness. Nevertheless, I found the place  peaceful and quiet. I could clearly hear the clock beating.

In half an hour, the lady came and I followed her to our room. The large key was telling something about the age of the house. The furniture looked antique and had good quality.

She assured that the whole bathroom is especially for us. Although it was not ensuite, we were and showed the towels. There were special soap from Marseille and scents from Provence in the bathroom.
